The backplate fixing centre and the lever/keyhole dimensions are the most important measurements. Compare these measurements carefully with your existing measurements prior to placing an order.

Lever/Pad

Lever pad handles are made up of a lever on one side and a handle that is shaped like a paddle on the other. These are designed for use with key wind locks. However they can be affixed to multipoint split spindle door locks.

When you are choosing the new set of lever pad door handles made of Upvc it is crucial to make sure that they correspond to the PZ (distance between the spindle of the handle and the centre of the hole in the cylinder) of your existing multipoint locks, as these need to be in line to ensure that the doors remain locked, either from the inside or the outside. The handles we offer are designed to work with most conventional cylinder locks, however you should double-check prior to ordering.

You'll need to take off your handles that you have already installed and then dismantle the lock case if upgrading to dual spindle levers for your handle as this will require an additional split cylinder inline. It is a good thing to loosen the screws that hold your door handle, and then inspect the mechanism. It is possible that you will need to loosen the screws even more if they are not tight. Then you can take off the old spindle and handle and replace it with a new upvc door handle. Before you screw the handle into place it is a good idea to check that it is in the correct position. You can do this by placing your finger into the gap between the frame of the door and the door handle to make sure it is in a level position.

Lever/Lever

Lever door handles operate with a multi-point lock that utilizes the Euro cylinder and can be found on a majority of double doors made of aluminium, upvc doors, and some wooden doors. They come in two types, with an interior lever and a paddle on the outside. Sprung - They have a spring cassette installed within the backplate, which helps bring the handle lever into the horizontal position.  upvc door handles -sprung - they do not have a spring mechanism, and will require manual pulled to bring the handle lever to the horizontal position.

To repair a sagging door handle lever, you'll need to find the detent access pin or hole. It's usually a small hole or protruding ring or rectangle located on the handle base plate. Once you have located it, loosen the set screw with the help of a screwdriver, and then remove it to release the lever to return to its horizontal position.

Once the handle is placed horizontally, you can reinstall the screws. Tighten them to ensure that the handle remains firmly connected to the base plate. You should also consider applying a threadlocking adhesive to the threads of the screw to increase the grip and stop them from loosening over time.

Drooping lever handles on door handles could be the result of various causes. The most frequent cause is that the fixings are too tight and the lever bearing to get tangled up against the door. It could also be because the levers aren't operated at a straight angle and this is compressing the latch mechanism and preventing it from fully springing back into service.

The most common reason for a sprung lever not working properly is that the spring is not being in the right position on the backplate. To check whether the handle is back to horizontal, simply operate it.

If your door handles are loose, it is essential to spot the issue quickly, since it could cause excessive wear on the screws and possibly to the handle falling off of the base plate. You should also tighten any loose screws on a regular basis to stop them from becoming looser.
